As California natives, we’ve experienced it all. Although there are a ton of fun family activities in Los Angeles, we believe that some are more fun than others, especially if you can only pick a few. 

For those visiting LA, or those who currently live in LA but would still like ideas, we’ve laid out some of our personal favorite LA attractions for families in the section below. And remember, these are just a few suggestions – there are still a ton of other things to do in LA with your kids! The thing about Los Angeles is that half of the fun is in exploring the city! Whether it’s your first, second, or third time visiting, we recommend you and your family dedicate at least one day to exploring LA on your own, you’ll never know what all kinds of adventures await!

 

Hollywood Walk of Fame

As one of the more popular family activities in Los Angeles, visiting the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a must. Here, you’ll find all of the names of your favorite actors, musicians, and fictional characters embedded on Hollywood’s sidewalks. Running 1.3 miles, the Walk of Fame is also a great opportunity to get a good walk in – and who knows, maybe you’ll get to see a presentation ceremony of a new star being added!

 

Natural History Museum of Los Angeles

Now what child doesn’t like history? The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles is an amazing place to learn about the past and the present. On your tour, you’ll be able to see cool gems and minerals as well as animals such as birds and insects. Oh, and did we mention dinosaurs?

As another super fun LA attraction for families, Universal Studios Hollywood is a theme park filled with rides, shows, shops, and more! Not only can you see some of your favorite characters in person, such as the Simpsons or Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, but you can also visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – something everyone has wanted to do at some point in their lives.
