Take some time to experience the captivating and mesmerizing ocean views and animal wildlife that we get to see every day! Some wildlife can only be observed during certain times of the year, however most can be seen year round.
Frequently spotted wildlife includes Gray and Blue Whales, Fin Whales, Minke Whales, Humpback Whales, and Orcas (Killer Whales). We also encounter Bottlenose dolphins, Risso’s and Pacific White Sided Dolphins.

Groups who have taken whale watching in San Pedro have found their experiences to be enjoyable and educational. Our whale watching cruises include informative commentary provided by experienced staff and on most cruises also a biologist from the Aquarium of the Pacific. We also frequently spot dolphins darting back and forth, playing with the boat, and jumping in and out of the water.
Comfortable accommodations aboard our ships include lounge areas where you may enjoy a snack or drink provided by our galley service. The ships also have lavatories and expansive deck areas for viewing and photography.

San Pedro offers excellent whale watching across all seasons. Gray Whale season runs December through April, with whales migrating along the coast between Alaska and Baja California. Blue Whale season is May through November. Humpback Whales, Fin Whales, and dolphins are present year-round. There is genuinely no bad time to book a tour.

These are the largest animals on Earth — averaging 150 tons and up to 100 feet in length — and seeing one in person from the water is an experience unlike anything else. Our crew actively tracks Blue Whale activity throughout the season.
Very common. Dolphins are spotted on the vast majority of our cruises year-round and are one of the most beloved parts of the trip. It’s not unusual to see large pods of hundreds of Common Dolphins, or to watch Bottlenose Dolphins ride alongside the boat just feet from the rail.
